We Ask for and Appreciate YOUR Submitted Music
Pirate Nation Broadcasting features music and entertainment from bands and individuals who perform around the world. We want to get your music to more people than just your immediate regional events, faires and festivals.
For recorded music we require two things:
1. Your Permission
The streaming broadcast and the podcasts are hosted either with the express written permission of the copyright holder for a public performance license OR under a creative commons license, specifically the Attribution-NoDeriv 4.0 International license. This means that the only payment you will receive is promotion of your content through the broadcast and/or podcast. We inform our listeners who performed the song and what album it came from. Then we include the URL or link you provide our musicstore which allows listeners to purchase the individual songs or playlists of every show.
2. Your music.
This podcast is not self-sufficient. Though we do have a great collection of pirate music we don’t have the money to go out and buy every act that wants to be featured on the show. Instead, we rely on you to submit recordings to the show.
We would prefer full albums. A show can get stale if the only song of yours we have is South Australia. We like deep tracks. We know that you work hard on every song of every album and want to promote all your work, not just a handful of selections.
Which Songs We Can Use
Due to our Creative Commons license and the rules of the Performing Rights Organizations, Pirate Nation Broadcasting is restricted to playing music that is “PodSafe”. Podsafe music is music that is either public domain, written by the band, or any song for which we should not have to pay royalties. If you send MP3s, please make sure that they are Podsafe. If there are any that are not, we would appreciate it if you would let us know AND provide us written permission with limited rights to broadcast. This radio broadcast station is created out of the love we have for pirate music and bands and cannot independently afford the licenses for your version of the Devil’s Dance Floor for example.
This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NoDeriv 4.0 International License.
